Recently, It has come to the fore front of my mind that LipSense , Sense Cosmetics , SeneGence, SeneDerm have very little Brand recognition and currently too much confusion associated with the names. For me the breakdown is pretty SIMPLE. LipSense is the premier product of SeneGence. SeneDerm is our amazing skincare line. Sense Cosmetics is are all of our color cosmetics.

My preference is currently Sense Cosmetics as is truly addresses the business that I market daily to women & men.

It is very difficult to promote a product that very few women or men know about. This morning, I decided to attend a class in Veretek (our online lead generation system) on Branding. I do not want to just brand my name: Carol Clifton (pretty vain) and the umbrella that I happen to sit under/with is called Clifton Web Group (sounds like a guy’s deal…ugh!). Okay, No male bashing.

The questions below are to get your imagination in gear so that you can create a name for yourself that actually embodies who you are. Goes right back to the law of attraction. It is much easier to work with like minded people that are attracted to you because of image your portray with your Branding.

1. Why are you sincerely doing your LipSense By SeneGence Sense Cosmetics? (You are not allowed to answer: MONEY) Go much deeper.

2. If you could do any activity or activities, what would they include?

3. Your Interests & Hobbies”

4. Do you have a particular words that you like?

5. Describe yourself and have some friends describe you? Try to keep these to 1 word answers.

6. Do you have some favorite visuals? Again try to keep these to one word answers.

Now is the time to start playing with all the words. Put no more than 3 in a row. This will reveal plenty about the person that you are and your image is all about you.

BE SENSATIONAL! that happens to be one word that I love to say. I also tell my daughter every morning before she goes to school to “Be Brilliant”. I will have to add that to my list.

Thanks to my friend Maryanne for inviting me to attend a meeting 5 years ago. She was launching a Missouri Chapter of eWomenNetwork in St. Louis. She needed support and I was happy to help. She told me that I needed to meet women interested in looking there best ALL DAY with SeneGence and she would deliver. Sounded good to me.

Yesterday was an amazing day of reflection in my SeneGence journey and eWomenNetwork. Sandra Yancey, Founder & CEO of eWomenNetwork was going to be the keynote speaker. I have met Sandra Yancey, several times through the years. In fact, she uses LipSense and our SeneGence Skincare. Sandra purchases her products from me or my friend Joyce. Sandra exudes ALL THAT IS GOOD and is one of the most inspirational speakers you will ever have the pleasure to hear deliver a message. The “Secret” is the way she lived prior to the onset of it’s fame and existance.

The Mission Statement of EwomenNetwork is WOMEN HELPING WOMEN. Giving is always first. No passing business cards for the heck of it. Generally, I would pass my card with a referral (on the back of my card) for another womens business. Do you understand the concept of WOMEN EMPOWERING WOMEN? Are you aware of the “GOOD OLE BOYS NETWORK”? Why don’t women have the same? I believe that all women should look to direct there buying power to other women. It is a fact that we control most of the purchasing power…Let’s consentrate on spending it with other Women. I have learned that it is best to GIVE, GIVE, GIVE and it will reward you 10 fold. Sharing is the key to success. Don’t forget to SMILE all the way.

Joyce and I had a LipSense expo table yesterday at our local EwomenNetwork event(did I forget to say that Joyce came my way via Maryann). Many of the women that have inspired me to new heights came over to chat (and buy LipSense). One Hundred and Fifty women attended this event yesterday. Too many names to mention.

Congratulations to my dear friend, Tessa Greenspan for winning the TOP WOMEN’S GROCERS award for the entire United States by the WGA. She never fails to connect me with another women at any event. So Giving! Thank-You for the information for Ricky regarding his stomach issues. Take a look at the following lead generation system that we discussed. Tessa has a lovely daughter, Terry. She had her Jewelry booth across from our SeneGence Booth. Tessa and her daughter have a wonderful mutual admiration going for each other. It reminds me of how much I miss my mother and confirms how lucky I am to have the same relationship with my daughter, Alexis. Terry has decided to join us in exhibiting at the eWomen Conference in Dallas. Her Jewelry will sell like Hot Cakes.

My friend, Gail Palubiak was at the Event. What a friend she has become! She is my girlfriend that LipSense brought my way thanks to Reba Green. Gail will be at my 70th Birthday Party. (inside joke) Thanks for the memories! LipSense Sunburst Orange maybe? Yes, I think we could be on to something. Wine this afternoon? My house at 4:00? Reba needs product and I think she must have gotten lost yesterday. Reba too? Hope St.Peters went well! Ipod alarm clocks are great graduation gifts.

Grateful once again for what the LipSense Long Lasting Lip Color has brought my way!

Do you identify with any of the above? Would you be interested in adding a few/many remarkable women to your life? Would you like me to introduce you to my incredible network of women? Are you searching for new prospects in your current business? Are you looking to get into a New business? Is collaboration something you enjoy? All of this is waiting for you at eWomenNetwork.

Sandra Yancey is forecasting 87 New Chapters this year. WOW! She is a lady that knows how to make her dreams come true by helpings others achieve the same.

I was surfing around on the web this morning and was Very Bothered by a particular site ranking for SeneGence.

Last Summer, I spent $4000 at a local University to advance my education of understanding marketing on the Internet. ALL A’s and very little retained. That’s History! but critical in my justification of my title.

In September of 2006, we (Myself, Rick, Ricky & Matt) began discussing a New Business Venture. After extensive planning and research we launched Clifton Web Group in October. My piece/contribution was going to be continuing with SeneGence and hopefully going under the radar screen on getting over involved with the rest of our offerings. I thought I was “TOO BUSY ALREADY.” I wound up in tears in December because I was told that “Christmas was going to be over soon and they (the men) were going to make me WRITE.” Matt, having learned a great deal about one of my favorite terms “PACKAGING WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY” did a very nice job of enticing me to accomplish the goal. Write & GO Back to school…FREE THIS TIME at Veretekk. Matt went on to say that if I would do that….THEN he would make me a PRETTY SENEGENCE WEBSITE (only with my assistance.)

Buying leads in most cases is GARBAGE. Just go burn your money in the fireplace because at least that will keep you warm. Marketers will tell you that they are qualified fresh leads and you will find out much to the contrary.

I have marketed my SeneGence business in every way imaginable. I love being a SeneGence Distributor and ALL the wonderful women that I have met along the way.

Currently, I am having so much FUN marketing on the Internet and teaching other women (ok…some men) to do the same.

I use a FREE SYSTEM called Veretekk for Lead Generation. In my particular case it is exactly MLM LEAD GENERATION. I attend up to 6 classes a week now and spend about 10 hours a week in my Veretek system attracting my vision of the Perfect Women that would appreciate what I have to offer. THESE ARE FREE LEADS LADIES! & GENTS!

I invite you to take a look at a truly incredible FREE LEAD GENERATION SYSTEM and then have some FUN and go out WOWING. Yes, SENEGENCE LipSense “WOWS” every woman that sees LipSense on my hand….DAILY.

         See you at the TOP!

You have to know that Lori is not in my downline. I am committed to train (share information & Bikes) with anyone that seeks my advice. I have a great love for this business and it makes me happy to talk about SeneGence. I am constantly seeking out information regarding skincare and cosmetics. The marketing aspect of Sense Cosmetics is just PLAIN FUN.

SeneGence technology cosmetics are like nothing currently available on the market. It will in some cases take a long learning curve to figure out that you can oust many of the rules of other lines. Our products have the ability to turn any color warm or cool. This Spring 2007 is a “PINK” lip season. I happen to look pretty bad in cool toned pink.

My cosmetic bag currently houses Pink Lemonade, Fantasy Fusia and Rose Ice. The warm tone staple colors that are in that same cosmetic bag are Moca, Malted, Beige Champagne. I always layer my warm colors in the 2nd or top layer when applying my LipSense. The same is true when I work with my BlushSense or my ShadowSense . Interesting piece is that Barely Bronze Shadow Sense is always in the equasion for both my shadows and Blush. This is what I was working on with Lori.

Throw the rules away! GIRLFRIEND and Remember that this is not your mother’s lipstick. Here to help if you need me.

It is much like LipSense because it is water proof, smear proof and crease proof. It is a cream with incredible blending capability although it takes very little to achieve a deep depth of color. Once you get use to the application technique of applying Shadow Sense…You will never go back to powder shadows.

Make sure you start off with a clean dry lid unless you are using one of our shadows (candlelight or malt are perfect for this purpose) or Make Sense Foundations to create a more even base. I prefer to place a very small amount of shadow on my hand to start. Use a brush or sponge applicator to pick up a very small amount. DO NOT USE THE WAND ITSELF TO APPLY TO YOUR EYE! Apply on your lid in a sweeping motion and blend to the color you want to achieve. Ebony Essence is a GREAT eyeliner. I apply it with a eyeliner brush although many of my customers use our Lip liner applicators to achieve a perfect lined eye.

Please feel free to contact me for further glamor techniques when applying ShadowSense.

Joni Rogers, CEO and founder of SeneGence International recently sent out the following email to her leaders in the USA, Canada and Australia. When you read her writing you will certainly benefit in both business & personal life.
ENJOY!

  Joni writes the following:

Hmmmmmm……another week of pondering……. What are the issues that affect MY LEADERS (I am quite possessive of you, you know) and what topic do we need to ‘get out into the open’ and deal with so that we can together grow, build, and prosper? After several phone calls regarding a variety of topics with many of you………I think we’ll talk about…
Working with Difficult People…..or DP

Before we forge forth…..let me say I LOVE DP! They make me smile inside and out from ear to ear; as they tax my mind beyond my limits and force me to grow and try to better myself. Often mystified by a statement or action – difficult people demand of me to learn to be more empathetic, more compassionate, more understanding of the frailties of the human psyche and its vulnerabilities. As a mother – DP make me acutely aware of the impact that one’s back ground and rearing (and the various related personalities of the caretakers) has on an individual and how it influences and ultimately shapes a person’s attitudes and presence of mind. DP have actually helped to make me more aware and a better mother.

It took awhile to learn to appreciate DP. I used to get upset, I took things they said or did personally… until I understood the challenge and rewards that comes by learning to work with them….which is ‘to become a better and stronger Leader’ by developing the skills required to work with ALL people – difficult or not (as long as they are law abiding).

Who are these DP of whom I speak? You know them. Maybe you work with them, live with them, or even hang out with them. (Why do we do that? Could it be habit and fear of change or disruption of a comfortable routine?) To call these people negative is an understatement. They complain, they vent, they criticize, they blame. DP make an impact and require a greater amount of stabilization and maintenance of your own person. Until, that is, you learn how to handle them.

Negative Nancy prefers complaining about anything and everything to finding a solution. Quick with the “buts” whenever a possible solution or new idea is offered, she sucks the energy out of a room like a backwards typhoon within seconds. (Nothing is left in the room – not even the furniture. There it is….you can see it bulging from her!) Often, this type of person couches the negativity within the realm of a joke – none the less she’s still an effective energy drainer. When you escape her you feel lucky to have made it out alive – You have to rush home to take a nap!

Venting Vicky likes to swoop in, dump her frustration all over anyone who will listen, and then go on her merry way. Venting Vicky needs an outlet for every minor annoyance, frustration, and issue, and if you’re her target of the day, you’re left feeling dumped on – immersed in a puddle of doodle. (Just who was that who ‘upchucked’ all over me?) Checking your clothing for stains……. You need to rush home to take a shower!

Beatrice Blamer is constantly critical, demanding, and berating she blames everyone and everything when things go wrong. She doesn’t take responsibility; rather, she deflects it. Beatrice Blamers create a negative, guilt-ridden environment. It’s usually them against the world, and you’re left holding the bag – dented and all bent up from the impact. You feel as if you’ve been involved in a hit-and-run – Swoosh! Bam! Thank you Ma’am! You have to go home and check for dents in your body and psyche! Sometimes the dents are so bad you have to seek the help of someone who can help you remove the dents – inflicting even more unproductive maintenance time upon you!

(Okay…I am rambling….) And you’re frustrated and tired of dealing with these wasteful interactions and DP…..and – if you are like me – until you learn to handle them – you’ll always feel as though you need some type of cleansing after talking with them!

While the most effective strategy for dealing with some of these people is to eliminate them from your life, in many cases, that’s just not doable. You can’t fire a coworker – distributor unless you’re the boss in a formal business arrangement. You can’t, or don’t want to, cut off ties with your family and so you’ve learned to put up with their negativity… most often always to your detriment.
Too much negativity can be toxic. It drains you, frustrates you, and it does infect you whether you admit it or not. After being with Negative Nancy or Venting Vicky, you find yourself feeling negative; or you note you begin to vent to others. You get sucked into their world, their communication M.O. and your usually positive outlook starts getting dark – you become skeptical and doubtful about things. Like Beatrice Blamer you walk away deflated, feeling as though the world has let you down again.

You may wonder why they have to be this way and find yourself constantly wishing they were more positive, happy, or sensitive to others. The truth is that asking why usually doesn’t change much. Unless the answer allows you to be more accepting—to come to love their negativity—knowing the “why” doesn’t solve your problem. You need to know how to avoid the slippery slope of getting sucked in, frustrated, annoyed, and negative.

What can you do to stop the downslide short of cutting them out of your life or being rude? Here are three proven strategies you can implement immediately.
1. The extinction strategy…. Make them dinosaurs- a thing of the past. Extinction simply means to stop meeting their needs. Once their needs aren’t being met by you, they’ll move on to other ways of getting their needs met.

What attracts negative people to you is that you give them what they want or need….. which is mostly your time. Not intentionally, of course. In fact, you are probably trying to be kind, patient, and friendly. But the truth is that if they weren’t getting some need met by spewing their negativity all over you, they wouldn’t be doing it. Negative people need one of two things from you. They are either looking for someone to commiserate with, or they want someone who will provide lots of cheerleading. Commiserating gives them affirmation. “You can do it” support gives them energy (by taking it from you).
Become a no whining zone. How? Simply refuse to engage. If you’ve been caught up in the “Ain’t it awfuls,” it’s time to stop. If you’ve been relentlessly cheerleading, stop. Have a simple phrase that you can repeat in a “charge-neutral” tone (without anger, frustration, or reaction, as if you were saying something as simple as “the sky is blue”), such as “isn’t that interesting.” I like to say “Hmmmmmmmm” and simply smile at them (or, if it’s on the phone….silence follows). Say nothing more, nothing less. After hearing that (and nothing else) three times, they’ll start to get the hint that you’re not going there with them. I’ve noted DP actually become embarrassed when they realize they are complaining to you again – they ‘self learn’ to shut themselves up fast!

  2. Draw the time line – Set limits and boundaries. You can’t afford to spend 20, 30, or more minutes listening to someone rattle on about everything that’s wrong in the world. It’s far too costly to your peace of mind and productivity ($). With Beatrice Blamers you need a zero tolerance policy. Get to a place where you simply won’t tolerate the rant (abuse). “I am sorry – I have a meeting I’ve got to get to. Can we talk later?” With Negative Nancys or Venting Vickys, set a time limit, and stick to it—somewhere between three to seven minutes, maximum. “Hello, this is Joni”. “Oh, hello Nancy .” “Listen, I just have one minute before I have to run to an appointment – Do you need something from me?” “No? Well, then – why don’t you call back and we’ll try to find time to chat.”
Or…..Once Negative Nancy or Venting Vicky has hit the three-minute mark, cut off the conversation. If you’re at a Glam N Gloss, say something like “I really have to get back to the training now.” If they continue (they will), be ready to get stronger. Stand up, create more space between you, and begin to move away. Say “I’m going to get back to my customers now.” It can be easier on the phone. Make your “I’ve got to go” statement, and insist on hanging up within the minute.

  3. Be unconditionally constructive and turn everything into a positive. You may have tried being positive, but positive doesn’t work. When you’re positive, you are trying to build the other person up (a form of cheerleading). This can be very draining because you are trying to move someone from extreme negativity to extreme satisfaction or happiness. That’s like pushing a large rock uphill. Alternatively, when you’re unconditionally constructive, you’re helping the other person build something for himself.
Instead of saying “You can do it! Here’s what I think you should do . . . ,” you could say “I’d really like to hear how you solve that.” Or instead of saying “I’m really tired of hearing your criticisms all the time,” you could say “I’d enjoy hearing your ideas about what would work.” By consistently doing this, you can teach the person that you will only engage with them when they are unconditionally constructive, too. You only have room in your life for people willing to bring solutions, ideas, and energy.

These strategies can and do work as long as you are consistent and clear. If you waiver, the negative people in your life will sense the opening and pounce on you like a panther looking for a dance partner. You have to commit to it and stick with it. Expect that they will test you – bobbing to and fro up and down & all around looking for new ways to infiltrate your space – like finding an opening to a porthole. You will likely see an escalation of the negativity, drama, venting, or blaming at first – as they are trying to break through a wall that’s been thrown up in their path. This is when holding strong to your time limits, charge-neutral tone, and higher standards is a must. Once you’ve passed the test, usually after three to five incidents, you’ll see dramatic change. If these people stay in your life – you have got to teach them what forms of communication is acceptable to you and what forms are not. They will change or they will move on.
If they choose not to change, Beatrice Blamer or Negative Nancy will move on to other sources of energy. Venting Vicky will vent less or seek out a new dumping ground. And you’ll feel lighter and more energetic. Most importantly, you will start to attract people just like you—unconditionally constructive, with healthy limits and a passion for what’s possible….making more of your day, your relationships, and of your productivity.
Hope this helps you…..as it has me!

  Thank-You! Joni

As Helen Montgomery quotes from AC magazine, “We’re in a funny sort of business. From the inside, affiliate marketing is in its boom phase. Our industry is growing tall and wide and strong. An estimated 30% of shoppers will buy holiday gifts online, and some percentage will click through affiliate links. We’re not just flexing our muscles in the retail sector. We’re power-lifting.

Yet from the outside, affiliate marketing is a misunderstood child still. Amidst our cherished holiday memories are images of distant relatives casting us a suspicious glance and asking “What exactly is it you do for a living?”

The disconnect between the way insiders and outsiders perceive affiliate marketing won’t destroy your self worth or your bank account. But funny, it’s hard not to feel rattled when your nearest and dearest assume that you’re in a “fringe” business because they can’t grasp the concept of “cookies.”

So at this most wonderful time of the year, when I become aggressively grumpy at relatives, acquaintances, and all those outsiders who just don’t get it, I reach for the antidote: gratitude.

Instead of trying to explain to the uncomprehending what I do for a living, I tell them why I thank my lucky stars, every single day, for affiliate marketing.

I’m thankful that affiliate marketing allows me to work not only from home, but from the road, a bed, or a hospital. Every morning I bless the affiliate marketing industry – it has transformed my life. I earn more, with less physical stress, than I could in a “non-fringe” job.

I’m grateful for the freedom to market what I want, to whom I want. You get to choose your industry, your niche, your market. You get to choose which products you want to sell, and which merchants to promote. You even get to change your mind without the threat of getting fired.

I’m thankful for the online world, where affiliate marketing was born and lives and thrives. The Internet is still the freest marketplace in the world. The little guy can build an empire without having to beg – and pay off – a dozen different bureaucrats to obtain permission to change the color of the sign above his store.

I’m grateful for the people who make me proud to be in the affiliate industry. People like my customers with whom I have developed life long relationships.

I’m thankful that I get to work with so many successful people who are so young. For a mid-lifer like me, these kids are a joy. They’re smart. They’re fast. They don’t care about corporate politics (what’s that?). They don’t need 13 meetings to make decisions. They believe in action. Thank you, Thank you.

I’m grateful that affiliate marketing is gender, age, color, and limitation-blind. You can do this if you really want to regardless of any constraints that apply elsewhere in the business world.

I’m thankful for the forward-thinking affiliate networks. They are dedicated to making our industry progressive and ever changing to meet the demands of my industry.

I’m grateful for home business monitors and regulators who works so hard to keep our industry clean of badware. Honest affiliates and networks owe you a debt. Dishonest affiliates and networks should fear you.

I’m thankful for the growth in the affiliate industry – and the growing pains. When your rankings tank or your keyword costs bloat, yes, it’s a bad day. But most of us would rather be Seabiscuit’s beat up jockey than a passenger in a small, slow, safe little donkey cart.

Since nine is a nice lucky number, I’ll stop. But I could go on with nine – or nine times nine – more reasons to be thankful for affiliate marketing. Gratitude reminds me that even when those loveable outsiders don’t get it, the people who read this blog understand. You know that affiliate marketing is not just a living. It’s a blessing.
So if you’re the sort who says grace before your Christmas feast, don’t forget to thank your God for affiliate marketing and the people who make it work. And even if you’re not the praying type, take a moment to look inside – deep inside – our industry, and be grateful for how it enriches your life and our online economy.”
